We would like to thank you for taking time to come out to our tryouts and work hard for a spot on one of our teams.  We were delighted to see such hard working and talented young ladies want to be a part of our organization.  Unfortunately, we could only keep a certain number of girls on each of our teams.  If you happen to be one of the ladies that we did not have room for, we hope that you will continue to work hard at developing your softball skills and come back to see us for Fall tryouts.

Congratulations to 18 Gold player, Brianna Rios, who recently committed to Santa Clara University.

Congratulations to 18 Gold player Allison Lenzora who was recently named Girls Small School Athlete of the Week by the Modesto Bee.

Allison and the rest of the Central Catholic Raiders won the Consolation Championship in the 16-team Gold Bracket.

The Bears Softball Organization would like to congratulate Ashleigh Westover for being named the Athlete of the Year at her High School (Damonte Ranch, Reno, NV)

Criteria is a multiple sport athlete with nothing lower than a 3.0 (which was not a problem), leadership, and positive qualities they brought to the school.

“We are so proud of her…” mom and dad talking!

The Bears Softball Association is pleased to announce the addition of Coach Sherry Clark to the 16U team staff.

Coach Clark comes to us from Solano Community College, where she is an assistant Coach. Coach Clark is a graduate of Sacramento State.

She played two years for the Hornets after two years of softball at Solano CC.

The reason Coach Clark returned to coach at Solano was" to give back the the program that gave me my start in College ball."

We at the Bears welcome Coach Clark with her attitude along with actions of generosity and pride.

The Bears Softball Association would like to extend congratulations to 18 Gold player, Paris Imholz, for her being selected in the top 125 East Bay Athletes of the Year. These outstanding student/athletes are chosen from all High School sports, both girls and boys are represented.

"The Bears 12's won their first tournament championship game today.  They beat the Foothill Gold 7 - 3.  Several of the players enjoyed their first ever championship game.  They all did great and there were miles of smiles."  Coaching staff

The Bears Softball Organization would like to extend congratulations  to Chelsea Shipley from Pinole Valley High School, Maddie Cousens from Albany High School,  and Jacee Almond from Clayton Valley High School for making all league.

On Tuesday, May 19, California voters turned down ballot measures that would have closed $6 billion of the budget problem.  This caused Governor Schwarzenegger to cut down the educational spending of each student by around $1,000.  This affected many bay area school districts, who no longer have the money to fund music and sport programs.  One of these districts is the Mount Diablo School District, including Clayton Valley High School, where Bear's 18 Gold's Victoria Kobold attends and plays both soccer and softball at, and where Bears coach and Vice President Jenn Arnold-Garcia coaches softball.   Kobold commented "I can't imagine not being able to practice and play... when I heard, I couldn't grasp the idea of not having sports after school".
